It is often seen from around the world that the Asian brides,
including Indian, Bangladeshi and Pakistani brides, mostly wear heavy
makeup. The eyes are dramatic and contouring is usually heavy, followed
by heavy jewellery and dress. The Asian brides are the most popular
brides around the world because of the heavy and expensive accessories
they wear during the ceremony.
Great base is the essential part of the bridal make up. The Indian bride is heavily contoured with the help of several brushes and makeup items. The desired effect is achieved by blending the contour line on cheeks and nose. Pakistani brides are also, to a great extent, contoured and a lot of time is spent in this task. It takes three to four hours in makeover. Along with the makeup, other items such as jewellery are also used. The bride is incomplete without heavy jewellery, usually made of gold or diamonds.
The standard colour for Asian bride is red colour, but mostly it is blended with bronze, red and gold colours. Eyes are heavily defined with the help of eyeliner and eye shadows. Even fake eye lashes are used to give a more dramatic effect. Most people think that the brides often look downwards, so that the full eye shadow is visible and blends perfectly. However, this is not the case; it is customary to look down due to the ritual followed by the ancestors. The look is completed by adding lip stick that matches the dress and the overall make over.
Among the East Asian brides like in Japan, China and Korea, the dress code is different from other parts of Asia. Women wear white dresses and men wear their black tuxedos. The East Asian brides have porcelain skin, so the colours applied are usually soft. Colours like brown and shades of pink work the best for these types of skin. The Japanese brides often prefer a dark red lipstick, which is said to be their traditional Japanese look; but overall, the makeup is simple.
Nowadays, the bridal make up is usually expensive. New parlours are developed and the competition is very high. The cosmetics and accessories used for makeup are costly. The wedding function is a heavy investment in major parts of Asia. Dowry and other items that are given to the bride also cost a lot. From the make up to the departure of the bride, the whole event is a big financial commitment.
The great thing about Asian bridal make up is that they show some touch of culture and tradition in their overall look. It is a special event, and every bride wants to look at her best. Something different is observed, and there are interminable prospects as the bride can take an idea from any aspect of culture and blend it in to her look.
