Every bride would like to have a picture-perfect wedding. Once you say yes to your significant other's marriage proposal, that is the time that you can get a head start on planning the details of your wedding. Let's say that you have already chosen the dress, your bridal hairstyle and you already have a list of the bridesmaids and groomsmen who you would like to have on your wedding. What comes next? Here, we will take a look at how you can coordinate the overall look of your bridesmaids.
What if I Have a Bridesmaid With a Goth Style & My Wedding's Conservative?
Perhaps a horror or comedic scenario is for a conservative bride to have a bridesmaid who has a Goth way of dressing. What if your sister is in her twenties and she's at that phase where she has nose or eyebrow piercings, or visible tattoos? If she will be one of your bridesmaids, how are you supposed to 'tame down' her looks so that she would fit in at your conservative wedding?
There is absolutely no need for you to worry. Choosing a set of bridesmaids for your wedding should never be based on looks - it should be on how close you are to your female friends or relatives. Naturally, your female best friend should be your maid of honor and the other women making up your bridal entourage should be bridesmaids to whom you are extremely close to.
Don't try to change who your bridesmaid is. For instance, if one of them has always dyed her hair with a loud color, you can probably ask her to tame down the color a bit for your wedding day. Nose, eyebrow or other piercings with rings can be removed but there's no need to ask a bridesmaid that if she doesn't want to. As for visible tattoos, there's virtually nothing that you can do about that unless you want your bridesmaid to cover her arms with makeup - which could turn out hurting her feelings in the end. What you can do instead is simply let the personality of your bridesmaid shine by choosing the proper makeup and dress for her to wear on your big day.
Choosing the Bridesmaids' Dresses
Gone are the days when bridesmaids needed to look like robots who have the exact same dress and make-up for weddings. These days, it is entirely up to you as a bride to decide which bridesmaids' dresses would best suit the occasion. Although there are still brides who prefer to have her bridesmaids wear the exact same dress, there are those who give her bridesmaids the freedom to wear different styles of dresses based on their body types. As long as the garments are made of the same material with the same color, then the entourage would still look coordinated.
How About Coordinating the Hair & Make-Up?
Lastly, you can coordinate the look of your bridesmaids through their hair and make-up. Again, each bridesmaid may have different hair lengths of facial shape - so how can you coordinate their looks? Simply using the same hair accessories would do. As for the makeup, you can easily have the makeup artist create a coordinating theme for it, so that the features of each individual bridesmaid will be highlighted.
